Fundraising for Focus Birmingham - May 2009
On Friday 8th May all the children at school raised money for 'Focus Birmingham'. This is a charity that supports visually impaired and disabled people, together with their carers, to live fulfilling and independent lives by providing services that reflect their wants and needs.
As part of the Every Child Matters curriculum, teachers discussed the impacts of sight loss with the children and raising their awareness of the issues involved.
Everyone at school dressed up on Friday in their brightest clothes and raised over £227 for the charity. We were joined by our friends from the Leeds Building Society who gave out fantastic prizes to the children in Key Stage 1, who had decorated the best 'Easter Bunny' competition.
