A Visit from the Lord Mayor - May 2012
21 May 2012
On Monday 21st May, Yenton Primary School was honoured to have the Lord Mayor of Birmingham visit the school. Lord Mayor, Councillor Anita Ward, was a pupil at Yenton, as were her two children.
It was wonderful for the children to all meet the Lord Mayor and see how they should have high aspirations for when they are older.
The Lord Mayor visited every classroom, where she was given a wish. Years 3 to 6 made class wishes for the City of Birmingham, Years 1 and 2 made wishes for Erdington and Reception for Yenton School.
The Lord Mayor discussed her memories of Yenton and which rooms she had been taught in. She also discussed the wishes given to her. There was in addition a question and answer session with Year 6, with some very probing questions about what the Lord Major had had done and who she had met!
Thank you to the Lord Mayor for a wonderful morning.
