Our Vision and Values (including British Values)
Our Vision
Our Vision at Yenton Primary is to develop...
- A lifetime enjoyment for learning,
- Self-worth and confidence,
- Responsible citizens who contribute positively to society,
- Independent thinking and creativity.
Our Values
RESPECT is a value that we, as a school, are currently reflecting upon. It forms a strong part of culture and expectations.
British values: Democracy, Rule of Law, Individual Liberty, Mutual Respect and Tolerance.
These values are discussed with all pupils weekly in our assemblies, which focus on a value and recognise pupils' achievements of these values as pert of everyday school life.
Culture & Expectations
We have extremely high expectations for our our pupils in all areas of their school life. We are working towards, a new Culture and Expectations policy that explains our approach to supporting pupils to implement and embed our key value of Respect and the British Values.
We believe that class, learning and school routines are developed to promote and raise the profile of our expectations. We have procedures that support teachers to ensure all pupils are clear about our expectations. The teaching and reinforcement of the various routines and expectations occur daily through general classroom practice and by staff including leaders when pupils are walking around school; achievements are celebrated in assembly weekly.
We are very Proud to have calm spaces available in KS1 & KS2 to give our pupils opportunities to have time out to reflect in a calm and inviting environment.
Our pupils' well-being is of high importance. We have eight members of staff that are trained Designated Safeguarding Leads, which means we have a high level of effective support for our pupils, which is further complemented by our enrichment activities.
